Celise was taken to the Atlantis infirmary briefly before Erran on M33-985 adopted her to look after her. Ronon and Rodney are still heading through the woods; I know the planet has short nights, but I am still starting to wonder if theyre getting tired. But before he can dial out, four Wraith dial in. Suddenly Ronon tackles Kiryk, and a runner versus runner knock-out brawl occurs. Having grabbed one of the dead Wraiths knives, Jennifer is able to stab the Wraith in the back before going to Celises side. Their quick search of the street happened while the opening credits played. Thats a low bar to clear, but at least hes doing that much. Back up on the ridge, Jennifer and Rodney are both shocked by Kiryks sacrifice as they know theres virtually no chance that hell be able to take out all those Wraith alone. Her entire civilization was wiped out. Rodney has done a patch that might have repaired the teleportation gizmo. Rodney and Ronon are out in the woods, with Ronon finding the marks from Jennifer dragging Kiryk. Keller was able to clean the wound the best she could, but the infection was still severe. She wants to help him as well as get the Wraith off their trail. Theres a shot from the perspective of someone spying on them. Darts are flying over the forest. A Wraith suddenly appears, and Kiryk uses a device attached to his arm to disappear and reappear behind the Wraith, decapitating it. He soon finds more of Kellers footprints to his relief (and to Rodneys when he hears the news). Attaching a paddle to his back and his chest, Keller jolts Kiryk. Kiryk barely starts a sentence, not enough for me to tell where hed go with it, when he picks up that Wraith are coming so he puts Keller in the nearby brush before heading off. A search is fruitless but outside the village, Ronon finds two sets of footprints, one of which is Keller's. She had once lived on a world with both her parents. He also notices a smaller spot where somebody else was resting, presumably a girl. It seems like they regret killing off Kiryk a bit, and I admit it would have been interesting if he had survived to become an on-and-off ally to the expedition, as well as being a single dad to Celise. He didn't simply ask because he wouldn't risk being declined.

Later, after she fails to join them, the pair returns to Erran's home and learn that Keller departed some time ago. It also kind of underscores that Jennifer quickly gets in sync with Kiryk, indicating that she might have a similar ability to get along with Ronon. She does get Rodney to take care of Celise, though. When he comes to, she proposes using defibrillators to short-circuit his tracking device. This scene reveals that it wasnt random odds that led to this interaction, but Kiryk deliberately seeking them out. Once the wormhole forms, Kiryk leaps through. Rodney heads to the Gate area, putting on his jacket as he enters the space. Once Celises leg has been rebandaged, Kiryk scoops her up. Rodney is unsettled by the close call.

Keller asks again about the tracking device, pointing out they'll all be safer if she can remove it. Celise is sleeping nearby as Jennifer does another checkup on her. In the infirmary, Rodney is helping Celise learn how to play a hand-held video game, but she doesnt want to shoot ducks so Jennifer suggests that he show her a different game, a suggestion he goes along with. For one dry run of a scene, David Hewlett goes bang repeatedly to mimic shooting (I found this amusing). When they pause again, Keller breaks free and runs. I suspect that was a change of pace from the crew usually having to try to make a relatively small area look like multiple different spots. Out of universe information Kiryk counters that either way, the Wraith wont be able to track him anymore, stating, Its time to stop running.. Jennifer apologizes to him; they have to get moving again so she puts the scanner back in the bag and gets moving. I admit that the similar age gap between Jack and Sam never really raised my eyebrows, but I do think part of that is because of Jewels first role being a teenager in season two, and then we viewers are expected to view as a viable love interest for Rodney (who is admittedly pushing forty at this point) in seasons four and five. Later, its explained that the teleportation gizmo came into existence because they wanted to give Kiryk an edge over the Wraith similar to Ronon having his blaster. Ronon remains frustrated with the other man. They also wanted to do a love triangle, and Im not sure why.

As Dr. Rodney McKay prepares to go off-world with Jennifer Keller, John Sheppard stops by. It turns out that her doll was made by Kiryk, which amuses Jennifer given how mean Kiryk acts. Teleporting over, Kiryk is able to behead the Wraith. Can only the Wraith hive/alliance that tagged a runner hunt them, or is it a free-for-all? By now, Rodney is aware enough to know that they both have gifts and that theyre on the same team here instead of trying to argue that hes superior due to his intelligence like I suspect season one or two Rodney would have done. It takes a bit for things to become clear, as Ronon initially doesnt get what that phrasing means. Grabbing the Wraith Hunter's tracking scanner, they follow Keller and her kidnapper to the cliff face.

(LogOut/ Inside the small cavern, Keller finds a girl with a badly injured leg. Later, Ronon has a staff in the gym. With the implant deactivated, the Wraith tracking device McKay is using stops working. Ronon uses the stick to guide down the path, finding a dangerous trap in the process. More Wraith show up and a fight breaks out. There isnt a timeline given on how long hes been keeping her safe, and its not helping that they had to constantly travel between planets. They admit that there were some hiccups with filming the last battle sequence because some scenes were filmed while it was clear and others when it was raining. Ronon and McKay find the Wraith that Kiryk killed. Kiryk and Celise were good one-off characters, with the latter doing particularly well given her limited screen time.

I suspect Ronons blast is what fells the Wraith in question; given how tough these Wraith have been, I have a bad feeling that they fed extensively before going on this hunt. Speaking of whom, elsewhere in the woods, Rodney notes thanks to the gizmo that the runner is circling one spot. Rodney is impressed by Jennifers improved combat skills and she reveals that shes been taking sparring lessons. Stargate. Jasons acting abilities are rightfully praised; he does a lot with the nuances, given how generally stoic Ronon is.

Rodney seems oblivious to that being a bad thing, and I find myself morbidly curious about what exactly a small Rodney did to get politely booted out of scouting. Kiryk wants to head for the Gate but Jennifer is worried about their odds. When Celise expresses worry about Kiryk, they reassure that they are looking for him (what they dont say is that theyre more looking for a body than for a rescue). I consulted the list of ingredients listed on the packaged mixed nuts sitting on the coffee table, immediately coming up with the inspired 'Peanutia. Suddenly, Ronon realizes McKay isn't with him. Maybe thatll be altered for the DVD versions? Keller tells them Erran has agreed to take in Celise when she has recovered. Jennifer is understandably wide-eyed by this turn of events. Rodney opts to linger so he can tell the villagers they can return to their homes. Erran knows of caverns the villagers have used previously to escape culling by the Wraith. Kiryk admits that hes a runner. Ronon's tracking abilities are challenged by the fact that Kiryk's tracks vanish suddenly. She planned to take her to Atlantis to save her life, and after Kiryk's tracker was disabled, he would live free enough to look after her properly. Its time for them to get going. The two of them came to this planet when he learned a doctor from Atlantis would be visiting. Kiryk and Keller have reached the base of a cliff, but Kiryk just teleports them to its top to her confusion. In the village, Keller examines a young boy. Its decided that theyll leave it up to Keller, which is refreshingly good for them.
