Edit: hell it worked with Luminas empowerment as well. Edit So just don't let starfire work with well at all, instead let well and empowering rift's damage buff stack like rift already does with radiance. It feels like the design team only viewed Top Tree Dawn as the only things Warlocks played. Damage taken can scale down to 0.25x based on the owner's Resilience stat. It helps to supercharge your grenade regen letting you spam the hell out of it. Cant let warlocks have their healing identity, amirite? Increased damage taken from bosses from 0.25x -> 7x (at 0 Resilience). It just feels like this is a cheap, quick nerf for something that isnt truly an issue, and it's gonna end up being more annoying than anything. So sick of nerf after nerf after nerf after nerf after nerf. Look man, the fragment they re-enabled is still not working right. MOVE POSITIVELY FORWARD, NEW NEW NEW NOT REMADE REHASHED REFURBISHED, quit taking crap guns off the print them back in making us have to really and rebuild then again. We don't have the time for all that in our lives u unless you take our whole lives. The thing I think nobody is talking about is that most bosses are incapable of targeting wells and bubbles unless a player causes them to shoot it by accident, so unless it's against bosses with serious splash damage like atheon well will be nearly unaffected, and in atheon it won't matter anyways since you can basically spam well with times vengeance. This is to counter dropping wells at sayatheons feet or any future boss we may over level. Currently, dropping a Ward of Dawn on top of a boss is a no-brainer because its so effective. It feels like the design team only viewed Top Tree Dawn as the only things Warlocks played (I guess watching PvPers, speed runners, etc) and are now just throwing darts at a wall to see what sticks. (Also here's screenshots of what Radiant does and doesn't stack with: https://imgur.com/a/PA6Eivz ). Get it on Google play. Warlocks are stuck in the air with a giant target on their backs. This is to counter dropping wells at sayatheons feet or any future boss we may over level. Soliciting/Plagiarism/Phishing/Impersonation, This site uses cookies to provide you with the best possible user experience. I want to be the support lock I was before this release and I still cant. There's been a lot of talk about how Solar 3.0 has no synergies with exotic weapons and armor (aside from the toaster). This is to counter dropping wells at sayatheons feet or any future boss we may over level. Also stories of it not continuously refreshing, requiring folks to move in and out of wells to retrigger Benevolence. I don't count very many
that would basically mean that Starfire Protocol could work without needing an Empowering Rift. We are just so used to not having to worry about it that many probably forgot that the sword and bubble can be destroyed if they take enough damage. Starfire used to work with Lumina iirc. YOU'VE ALREADY MESS MESS MESSED TO THE POINT WE ARE PLAYING OTHER GAMES. Play nice. Damage taken can scale down to 0.25x based on the owner's Resilience stat. IF THAT. Hearing stories Boots of the Assembler still doesnt shoot out orbs. Ward of Dawn Doesnt nerf walking bubble known as heir apparent. It used to work with Empowered Melee from Grace pre-3.0 rework. Welcome to Destiny Reddit! I mean, I personally love the change, I think making the resilience stay more important and preventing people from just ignoring raid mechanics, like atheon, with well of radiance is a great thing. Master Templar is gonna be rough after those changes. I'd be fine if Warlocks specialized in a different keyword, but they don't. Increased damage taken from bosses from 0.25x -> 7x (at 0 Resilience). So now quake can be a legitimate threat to those supersprobably. Yeah the whole Solar 3.0/Exotic synergy is wack atm.

Same with how Boots of the Assemblers and Lumina don't synergize with this new update either. Not to mention other Solar-focused exotic that were absolutely useless before and are even more useless now (looking at you Promethium Spurs). Ward of Dawn

I love how Warlocks literally invented Radiance and since the beginning of the franchise, Radiance has been exclusively associated with Warlocks and yet Hunters specialize in it. If you can't make new content how some smart sobs to do the job and quit with the negative adjustments already. Ward of Dawn Ill have to double check and see if it still does.

Don't be surprised if every enemy in the room starts shooting at the Well's sword instead of the players from now on. They should also call Empowering Rifts "Radiant Rift" since that's their new vocab for Solar 3.0. BUT NERF OUR PVE, DO THAT AND WE'RE GOING GOING GONE. Also, WTF does it mean to freeze the Dawnblade sword? Then they should make it specific like under the influence of empowering rift and well of radiance only. Increased damage taken from bosses from 0.25x 1.5x (at 0 Resilience). Note: This refers to the Well of Radiance itself and not players inside the well. Take some time to look at our boss encounters in raids and nightfalls and count the number of bosses that can actually do the necessary damage to kill our supers.
i'm already getting one shot out of a well in grand masters, now my well will get destroyed even faster when it doesn't even work in the first place? Imo radiant obviously isn't supposed to stack, so they'd have to fix that first but once they do it will just take radiant priority for damage, but still give you benefits of being in an empower. By continuing to use this site, you agree to the updated policies documented at, {{client.users[message.memberFromId].displayName}}. I can. Increased damage taken from bosses from 0.25x -> 7x (at 0 Resilience). Why even buy the game? However, we need to actually take into account which bosses this will actually effect before we blow it out of proportion. I saw those changes and immediately got a group together to finish the rest of fatebreaker off. The goal of this change is to reduce the breadth of encounters solved by Ward of Dawn and make burly bubbles a conscious choice by the Titan. This game is already to technical and newbies don't have the mods not can even get them it's going to make the little balance even less. I don't really mind being reminded that the Bubble and Sword could be destroyed, but I AM salty over the fact that a Warlock needs Resilience (not their primary stat; or for you technical people, the stat not tied to class ability) to keep their Sword from dying, whereas a Titan needs Resilience (their primary stat) to keep their Bubble from breaking.

As for bubble, most people never actually stay in it any longer than they need to to get weapons up, so the same applies. The goal of this change is to reduce the breadth of encounters solved by Ward of Dawn and make burly bubbles a conscious choice by the Titan. Post, Download on the AppStore I think they could easily do a workaround where well of radiance both gives empower and radiant. . So building resilience will now be more important to ensuring that your bubble and your well survive the damage they will receive. Please read the sidebar rules and be sure to search for your question before posting. Titans it makes more sense since their class ability uses res Unless you leave anarchy alone wells bubbles and just make some awesome new content and write reverse f, ING the game up, MOVE FORWARD NOT BACK, HELL I JUST DIE EVERY SINGLE TIME ICE HIS ME, NO REAL NEED IN THAT AREA. If you're a Dawnblade running a low resilience, I can seem Atheon being able to bust it up.. Or Templar being able to do it if you're running a no-teleport strat. Take some time to look at our boss encounters in raids and nightfalls and count the number of bosses that can actually do the necessary damage to kill our supers.
Radiant (from Ember of Torches) stacks with a number of buffs like Empowering Rift, High Energy Fire and the like that Well of Radiance does not stack with. Can they even be broken before the timer expires? I think Bungie just doesn't know how to rework and balance some exotics. This is a big nerf, I may be over exaggerating but bubble and well are so required for harder content due enemies one tapping you. If you're running radiant you should always use emp rift over well anyway. I don't count very many

I run 100 resilience on my Titan anyways, so this nerf doesnt really affect me. Edit Well of Radiance is still using the same Empower base buff as it was prior to Solar 3.0 which to my knowledge is shared with Empowering Rift, High Energy Fire and the like. For example, if Well makes you Radiant, it'll no longer work with Stafire Protocol unless they rework it to work with Radiant but that introduce another problem: that would basically mean that Starfire Protocol could work without needing an Empowering Rift, it'd be broken af given how easy it is to get and keep up Radiant. YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO DIAL IN EVERY SINGLE PIECE FOR EVERY SINGLE THING.
So now quake can be a legitimate threat to those supersprobably.
this is all big bungies and big gamings plan for a resilience based meta, god help us all
. So for everyone misunderstanding the nerf, the BUBBLE ITSELF will be taking more damage, and the WELL SWORD will be taking more damage. You are correct, but a change like that is huge, and shouldnt be random and out the blue. In addition the artifact mod Rays of Precision does not proc while inside Well of Radiance which makes it clearer that Well of Radiance is not actually applying the Radiant buff as per the description. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts. This sub is for discussing Bungie's Destiny 2 and its predecessor, Destiny. Apparently "bosses" now means every enemy and every encounter in the game now .
I don't count very many
To clarify, I'm not agreeing with it, I'm just arguing that this change could end up being a whole lot of nothing that people are getting all worked up over. Edit

Damage taken can scale down to 0.25x based on the owner's Resilience stat.
Can someone explain to me why a bubble taking more damage matters? Note: This refers to the Well of Radiance itself and not players inside the well. My god you are gonna keep running us off.
I think it is still a very powerful build even without the extra regen you can get from something like wh or Osteo - so balancing could normalize the regen rate to a new ceiling to let you still fire them off very quickly without it being kinda broked. Create Fireteam
Well of Radiance Please, just let it work with Radiant. Turns out it also means that Solar 3.0 doesn't have synergy with mods designed to have synergy with Solar 3.0.

However, we need to actually take into account which bosses this will actually effect before we blow it out of proportion. Currently, dropping a Ward of Dawn on top of a boss is a no-brainer because its so effective.

Drop a Witherhoard round into the target, blast away with a demo heavy and spam your grenade in between shots. That interaction should remain now. We are just so used to not having to worry about it that many probably forgot that the sword and bubble can be destroyed if they take enough damage. I don't count very many. ITS NOT EVEN A FUN THING TO HAVE TO GOOGLE WHAT YOU NEED TO MOD EVERYTHING JUST RIGHT. What a bad day to be support main. People are now going to have to rethink builds, especially warlocks cause they barely use resilience. Seems like it's a huge mess and they haven't figured out everything yet. Nerfs bubble WE WILL KILL THE WITCH AND QUIT. This become clearer when you look at the behavior of Well of Radiance and the Radiant buff received from Ember of Torches. You used to be able to get it to work with the warlock melee that would empower you, so moving that functionality to work off of radiant would be the same thing. There is absolutely no balance anywhere in this game D1 WAS WAY BETTER DIDN'T LOOK AS GOOD BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WAS WAY BETTER EXOTICS WERE EXOTIC. So now quake can be a legitimate threat to those supersprobably. The res stat is the most useless stat in the game. assembler warlock Counter intuitive, As usual the only reason to nerf these two is to SQUEEZE more life from existing content to make it more "difficult."

The following change refers to the Ward of Dawn bubble itself and not players inside the bubble. The goal of this change is to reduce the breadth of encounters solved by Ward of Dawn and make burly bubbles a conscious choice by the Titan. Damage taken can scale down to 0.25x based on the owner's Resilience stat. so basically, i'm now going to get killed even faster in my well in a grand master then the one shot i was already taking when using it? mean that Starfire Protocol could work without needing an Empowering Rift, it'd be broken af given how easy it is to get and keep up Radiant. The only real difference is that you have a ranged melee now, so it would be easier to proc. That don't need to be messed with, what we need is beautiful new adventures not f, ING with what actually works in the game. So building resilience will now be more important to ensuring that your bubble and your well survive the damage they will receive. Yes, I can sassy snap and throw grenades in the air, great. So hunters have better radiance and titans have better healing. Bottom Tree Solar was gutted because I suppose Bungie thinks everyone plays PVP. destiny buff anarchy raids menagerie What's the point of using the super then. Loading, please wait. Warlock class runs on the recovery stat bungie u need max resilience. Honestly the funny magic healy sword having more health based on res is a little weird since warlocks dont really speck into res, like at all. So for everyone misunderstanding the nerf, the BUBBLE ITSELF will be taking more damage, and the WELL SWORD will be taking more damage. The replies are making me embarrassed to be a part of this community It's the fastest way to regen your explosive nonsense. You are not allowed to view this content.
Well of Radiance So building resilience will now be more important to ensuring that your bubble and your well survive the damage they will receive. I fly around snapping like colonel mustang on my warlock with that thing and fire ahamkara gloves.
Well of Radiance Its time to blow it up & give us destiny 3. However, we need to actually take into account which bosses this will actually effect before we blow it out of proportion. It definitely worked with the melee, though - I used to use that all the time to help with burst when healing wasn't entirely needed. That cabal themed scout that now applies scorch is pretty sweet. How sad.

I just wish we had like a champion mod I could slot in with my power weapons this season because I feel a bit selfish only reliably bringing one to the table. Cancel Damage taken can scale down to 0.25x based on the owner's Resilience stat.

I've been playing this game for years and just learned with this last TWAB that the WoD sword could even take damage. Makes no sense. Increased damage taken from bosses from 0.25x 1.5x (at 0 Resilience). Take some time to look at our boss encounters in raids and nightfalls and count the number of bosses that can actually do the necessary damage to kill our supers. Maybe season 4 this year will be Season of the Synergy where they update all the exotics to work with the new subclasses. Bungie logic, Titan Bubble is stronger with higher resilience make sense there class is built on resilience. I think what makes Starfire so strong right now is its interaction with fast firing weapons with scorch and things like Witherhoard and Osteo that leave a damage-over-time effect. Increased damage taken from bosses from 0.25x 1.5x (at 0 Resilience). Ultimately, I love the little extra oomph to your regen with wh. This is EXACTLY what happened. They nerfed well of radiance again?

Edit The only class I have is hunter so this doesn't bother me at all, in my experience if it comes down to needing a well or that bubble thing you probably are undergeared for the content anyway, this game doesn't have roles (tank, dps, healer) everyone is dps because you don't need tanks or healers in destiny.
